Network browsing in Panther

Okay… good. It’s not just me. There really is something wrong with Panther’s network browsing. From the Network icon in the Finder sidebar I’m able to log on to a server but not log off. For me this is only a problem with Windows shares via Samba. I’m able to mount and unmount Macs with no problem.

There is a work around which will mount the drives and show them on the desktop and in the sidebar as they did in Jaguar. From the Finder use the Go>Connect to Server and enter the address manually. Once you have mounted a network drive save it as a favorite. If it’s not already in your sidebar put your favorites folder ther and now you have quick and easy access.
