Not getting it

Jeanne over at Body and Soul blogged about Clinton yesterday. The gist of it was that Clinton wasn't the best but that Bush is much worse. I was lucky enough to start the discussion in her comments section and I hoped that folks might be interested in discussing something other than the flaws of the Clinton Presidency. Generally that proved not to be the case.

Folks, we really need to take the following advice from the Declaration of Independence more seriously:

"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

We are too comfortable. We are afraid. How bad will it get before we decide that the answer isn't another Democrat?

Liberals that debate the Clinton presidency are not helping a damn thing. It is the system that is flawed. The system. It's broken and bandaids will not fix it. We need a new foundation. Not a new president, a new system. Hello... anyone home?

Yeah, it's scary to think about or talk about. But it's in the fucking Declaration of fucking Independence. It's time to abolish what exists and create something new. How bad will it have to get?
