The Occupation

River over at Baghdad Burning writes about her experience of the fall of Baghdad:

For me, April 9 was a blur of faces distorted with fear, horror and tears. All over Baghdad you could hear shelling, explosions, clashes, fighter planes, the dreaded Apaches and the horrifying tanks heaving down streets and highways. Whether you loved Saddam or hated him, Baghdad tore you to pieces. Baghdad was burning. Baghdad was exploding... Baghdad was falling. April 9 is the American Occupation Day... Baghdad Burning

It's hard to comment. I want to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't do more to try to stop it. I protested but I did not protest enough. I'm sorry that George Bush was elected (selected). I'm sorry that American citizens have lost control of their country and we need to be liberated from our own dictator. There's alot I'd like to say but what it comes down to is that I'm sorry.
