While out on a trail walk yesterday, I saw something small and white moving around in the leaves and met this cute, furry moth, Artace cribrarius, the dot-lined white.

    A nice morning dog walk with all of the usual characters. I'm getting better at identifying bird song. Today: White-eyed vireo, yellow breasted chat, northern parula and cardinals.

    Also, flowers: Queen Anne's Lace A cluster of very tiny white flowers with a deep red magenta flower at the center

    Chicory and a green bee, perhaps Agapostemon virescens.

    Antheraea polyphemus, the Polyphemus moth, one of the giant silk moths. A beautiful moth, and so furry!

    Growing in the sunny spots around the garden, garlic chives, sweet coneflowers and western ironweed are current favorite feeding spots for bees and butterflies. 😍

    Found this pretty lady in her web on my front screen door. Safely relocated to a sheltered area in my garden. Venomous yes, but easy to scoop her and her egg sack into a container without any danger to either of us. 🤓 🕷️🕸️

    Recorded several years ago. I was recording the waterfall, the dragonfly was a happy accident.
