This video at Big Think is an excellent description of the Big Bang. As much as I’ve read about it I’ve yet to come across a description this good and easy to understand. I’m trying it out on my family. Michelle Thaller does a fantastic job describing it. I’d previously heard it likened to a cinnamon roll expanding in an oven and I love cinnamon rolls so  But that description stops short of emphasizing, as she does in the video, the 2-D aspect, of only paying attention to the surface. New to my thinking.

Fall morning water harvesting
My tiny house sits under a shag bark hickory and this year I’ve had lots of hickory nuts falling. An interesting thing has been to watch my dog Annie as she eats them. She cracks them open, eats the nut-meat and leaves the shell. I had no idea dogs ate nuts if given the chance.

Taken on this day a couple years ago. Found using Vittici’s This Day Shortcut.
Spent the day, the whole day, at least 8 hours, trying to learn more about how to save time with iOS Shortcuts. Not sure I’ll ever come close to getting this 8 hours back. As with all time saving automations, learning takes time.
Had a very nice visit with 8 or so friends. We have a weekly coffee get together, rotating to different homes. Talking to my brother afterwards I realize that I forget not everyone has this. It’s nice to be a part of a chosen, created community of people with common interests.
